Im Not Sure Whether To Go Vegan Or Vegetarian

By:

Making the choice is a lot easier than you think. Being a vegan and/or vegetarian is an evolutionary process. In fact, many vegans begin their journey as vegetarians. It all boils down to what foods youre comfortable giving up, which is usually all about timing. You may be at a point in your life where meat just isnt as important as it once was so giving it up completely wont be challenging for you. On the other hand, you may still very much enjoy some meats like seafood and poultry and therefore be unwilling to give those up. Essentially, you have to decide where you are at the moment and what level of vegetarianism is comfortable for you. No classification is better than the other.

Actually, its less about whether one is better than the other and more about them both being different reflections of the same light. This is so because veganism is a form of vegetarianism, one of the more restrictive classifications. There are a wide range of classifications of vegetarians from those who consume poultry to fruitarians who eat only fruits, nuts and seeds and other plant-based food that can be obtained without harm to the plant. Vegans are more closely aligned with fruitarians and omit all animal products (including eggs and dairy) as well as foods containing animal-derived ingredients.

Both vegetarians and vegans have for one reason or another come to a place of health consciousness. Both know the value of food as a means of realizing better health. Both are taking steps to lower their risk of contracting deadly diseases. Most of all, both are being responsible for their overall nutritional wellness. Again, vegetarianism is an evolutionary journey along a path whereby one may or may not evolve into a vegan. That said, a vegetarian is just as significant and amazing as a vegan. All aspects of the path are equally gratifying in that there is no end to the path, which is actually the beauty of it all.

As we continue along the journey of human evolution there will always be something more, something new, and something inspiring. However, not even evolution can ignore or minimize the deliciousness of the times before. This premise holds true for vegetarianism as well. So when making the decision to venture going vegan cold turkey versus making it a gradual change as a vegetarian or simply remaining a vegetarian, know that either way the experience is just as satisfying. One may challenge you more than the other, but in the end you have to take the path that feels good to you. Youre the star here and whoever you choose to be will always be better for just having made the choice.
