Just when people were looking at smaller cars for answers on fuel efficiency, Hyundai Motors has propped up a surprise by launched the Accent LPG-called the Eco-synonymous with its environmental friendly character.
By adding the LPG variant it is Accent range, Hyundai offers the lowest running costs and easy maintenance in the sedan segment. Most buyers will love its three box comfort and the cheap maintenance expenditure.
The new Accent is a bi-fuel variant available at Rs 5,33,900, which works out to be costlier by the Rs 34,900 compared to the petrol version. However, most buyers will agree that the difference can be recovered soon due to low running costs of the car.

Accent Eco- customers, Hyundai has got it certified by the highest authorities in the land. The LPG kit on Accent has been certified by the Department of Explosives and Automotive Research Authority of India, a premier auto certifying authority. The LPG kit undergoes leakage detection test thrice before it is finally delivered to the customers. The special filler cap inside the LPG lining prevents wear and tear of the nozzle.
The kit is fitted to an existing 1.5 litre petrol engine that can be switched on when required. A slick 5-speed manual transmission can kick in enough power at a slight push. Fuel sources can be altered at the press of a button on the dash, to select petrol of LPG when needed. Separate fuel tanks have been provided to opt for either driving mode as Hyundai has fitted a 45 litre petrol tank and 27.2 litre LPG fuel tank in the car.
While most LPG kits in cars consume the whole luggage compartment, making the car unusable for long drives, Accent LPG provides ample storage space. The LPG kit is fitted in a special Toroidal design which allows a large room for storage of luggage in the boot. The intelligent use of space has been will be one of the advantages of the Accent over smaller cars. It also enjoys a 2-year warranty period, making it one of the longest for alternative fuel sources.
Accent has always been one the strongest product in the
mid-size car segment. An LPG variant will enhance its charm to make it popular among big car buyers. The high re-sale value of Accent wont be diminished by the LPG kit, as a fully functional petrol tank has already been fitted. For added safety, an engine immobilizer has also been fitted to the powertrains. The other highlights include reduced engine maintenance which results in longer life for spark plug and engine, and reduced frequency of engine oil change.
