Htc Giving Away 5gb In Your Dropbox Android Users

HTC has been reported in a statement during the Monday that from now on, your mobile devices with Android operating system will bring the application Dropbox included, whose storage capacity will be increased to 5GB in its free version. Previously, this was only available for some models of the brand.

HTC Corporation, formerly High Tech Computer Corporation, is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones. The company initially made smartphones based mostly on Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system (OS) software, but in 2009 it began to shift its core focus away from Windows Mobile phone systems to devices based on Android OS, and in 2010 to Windows Phone OS as well.

Dropbox is a Web-based file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that uses cloud storage to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization. It was founded in 2007 by MIT graduates Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi as a Y Combinator startup.

There are both free and paid services, each with varying options. In comparison to similar services, Dropbox offers a relatively large number of user clients across a variety of desktop and mobile operating systems. There are a number of versions across many operating systems, including versions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (official and unofficial), as well as versions for mobile phone equipment, such as Android, Windows Phone 7, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry, and a web-based client for when no local client is installed. Dropbox uses the freemium financial model and its free service provides 2 GB of free online storage.

The partnership between HTC and Dropbox (which means an annual payment can increase storage capacity up to 100GB) is to be a response to the launch of icloud by Apple, a product that although it shares similar functions with Dropbox, have differences root: the icloud, and allows data storage in the cloud allows you to back up the system preferences and support the entire team, Dropbox lets you upload files to a virtual hard drive that links the same folder the various devices we use with the application, whether PCs, Smartphones or Tablets.

This benefit alone will reach those who purchase devices with Android, HTC phones because they use Windows Phone 7 Skydrive service feature, which allows storage up to 25GB.
