How Young People Can Make Some Extra Cash Without A Job

One of the worst things about being a teenager is that you are too young to have a young, and are completely reliant on your parents to buy you things and give you money.

Most of the time they won't buy you what you want, and you have to wait until your birthday or Christmas to get something good. Wouldn't it be better if your parents actually gave you money, so you could get what you wanted, when you wanted?

Well there is a way, and some people are already getting it.

It's called pocket money, and some parents give their teenagers weekly or monthly allowances. However not all parents give their teens pocket money, and some don't give them nearly as much as their kids want.

So what can you do if your parents don't give you any money? One of the first things to do is ask for it. Many parents don't give their kids pocket money because they never even thought about it, and were never asked for it.

I remember when I first heard about pocket money at school. My friends always had money for sweets and I never had any. So I asked them where they were getting all their money from, and they said their parents were giving it to them!

So you can imagine the first thing I did when I went home after school. Yes, that's right, I asked my mum for some pocket money!

At first she said I don't need it because she buys me the things I need, but after telling her that my friends were getting pocket money (and a little nagging!) she finally decided to give me 1 (about 50 cents) a week.

Now this may not have been very much money, but as a kid it was more than what I needed to buy a few sweets. Later as I grew older I found that I could increase the amount of money I was getting from my mum by making myself useful to her.

I offered to clean around the house, wash the car, do the dishes and all sorts of things. My mum gave me money for doing it, and she was happy because she got some extra time to relax.

Unfortunately as soon as I was old enough to get a job, my mum stopped giving me pocket money. So if you are not yet old enough to work, make the most of it while you still can!
