How Using Incentives Make More Productive Employees

By:

Employee recognition or incentive programs are so smart to have set up for any company. They are a great way to make employees a lot more productive and happier in their jobs. We all know that a person who is happy at work will be doing their job better and quicker than those who are unhappy.

You really do not have to come up with something that is huge, even a little thing can change around the attitude of a whole office. There are many wonderful examples of recognition chances and other incentive programs that other companies have used in the past.

With a company that had around 40 employees located at a home office, you would get to know most people. So there would be a quiz that would be held each week, giving hints about one person. Their favorite movie, drink, restaurant or color, something that not everyone would know.

With the person who would guess the employee first and correctly a gift certificate would be given out. Most times it was something small like to a fast food place, but it was a great incentive. Breaking up one day a week for just a little bit of time, but also helping you to learn more about other people you worked with.

It was something that was well put together, and simple enough to pull off quickly. Almost all employees would participate in this program, even those who were normally not the kind to do so. It was something that offered a lot of fun, and if you won it was fun to head out and get ice cream or something else.

These are not the only types of incentives that you can offer your employees though. There are great ways for employee recognition that can be implemented into any type of business. Whether it be an employee of the month award or something else that can be offered.

Nothing is quite as motivating to people than money, and when it is extra in their check they will really work a bit harder. Something that could be used to allow even more production in your staff and happiness even for those employees.

Place in a simple recognition program like this and watch to see how many employees work harder than normal. Also include a yearend competition that will match up those monthly winners and give one person an employee of the year award. Attaching a bit larger money incentive to this as more of a reward too.

As a company you do not need to pay out a lot of money to motivate your employees. The fact that they know they are being recognized as a good employee will be a great motivation too. Look up other programs that have been used by companies in the past for help.

Have an employee of the month and all those employees go into a big pot at the end of the year for a bigger award. Give away money as a bonus for that larger award, and you will see an increased production of employees. They will all be aiming to pull in that recognition and that money or certificate that you have included in the program.
