How To Use Maps And Artists Impressions To Impress In Business.

By:

Can you imagine what life would be like if we didn’t have access to maps? It would be very hard indeed to stay in business if you relied solely on customers visiting your premises for your income. How would they ever find you? Obviously you could write a long and detailed description giving directions, but if you didn’t fall asleep in the process, your customer’s probably would when reading them. Also, once you had given the directions, there would be hardly any room left on your leaflet, flyer, brochure or website to describe the wonderful things that you customer can expect when they get there. No doubt you would not stay in business long.

Yes, a world without maps would be a very confusing one. Lots of large buildings such as hospitals, universities and some large businesses rely on maps or site plans to help people navigate around them, thus ensuring that everyone gets to the right place. So not only do we use maps to help us get to our chosen destination, once arrived we are often given more maps or plans to help us get the most out of our visit.

Have you ever stopped to consider the amazing influence that illustrations have on our lives? When children first start to read at school they are given books which contain lots of illustrations and only a few words. This is because the pictures help the child to guess what is going on in the story and gives them clues as to what the words might say. It enables the child to tell the story without necessarily being able to read all of the words. This then gives the child the confidence to start to identify the words and match them to the pictures and this is how they lay the foundations and go on to become fully literate, and all this started with a picture. It is amazing when you think how much power a picture has!

No wonder then that artist’s impressions are a vital tool when selling something that in fact doesn’t exist (for example something which hasn’t actually been made, created or built). They are commonly used on site boards, promotional literature and planning applications. Estate Agents, Architects, Developers and Garden Designers also use artist’s impressions for advertising their products. Without the illustrations, it would be very difficult for them to be in business, as the majority of people like to “try before they buy” and with these particular commodities that is not possible. This again goes to prove how important pictures and illustration are in business.

I hope that this has given you some food for thought, and if you are looking at ways to increase your customer base, you will consider the amazing power that maps and artists impressions can have.
