How To Use A Journal For After Baby Weight Loss Success

By:

The birth of a new baby is one of the most exciting, fulfilling experiences any mum can have but sometimes things can become a little overwhelming because there is so much to do. It doesnt matter how much you have thought about the situation beforehand, unexpected things happen and it sometimes feels that you are almost losing control.

In other walks of life we are used, to planning out things we want to achieve and then periodically reviewing our progress and adjusting our plan for the coming days and weeks. By reviewing things periodically and re-planning we give ourselves the best chance of achieve our goals.

Well the same is true in weight loss after pregnancy and by using a journal you can set yourself up for weight loss success. Here are some of the things you should be recording in your journal to achieve success at losing baby weight.

Meal Plans. It is essential that you plan ahead of what and when you are intending to eat. Its no good waking up one morning and not having any idea what you are going to eat that day. Think head and use your journal to list out what you are going to eat on each day and make sure that the food is nutritious and balanced from the 5 food groups. Write this all down in your journal and on each day record what you do actually eat.

It is advised that you should drink at least 8 large glasses of water each day so record how many glasses you are actually drinking so that you can see whether you are drinking enough or not.

Write down and record how much weight you actually want to lose. Is this to get back to your pre pregnancy weight or are you going to take advantage of your new situation and lose more weight to get to your ideal weight.

Dont jump on the scales every day but instead only weigh yourself once per week. You can then track your weight and see how your weight loss is progressing. Remember that sometimes weight loss can be a little up and down so dont get too worried if in one week you havent lost too much weight, youll probably find that the following week you will lose even more.

Decide and record the amount of exercise you intend carrying out and then record the amount of exercise you actually achieved.

So once you have recorded these things in your journal, set aside a few minutes every week to review what you have achieved. Have you stuck to all the things you had intended or are there some things that you are finding difficult to achieve? Dont be too hard on yourself but think about the next week and repeat the planning process. This time use the things you have learnt from the previous week to make adjustments to your plan but, hopefully, the plan is more achievable.

At these weekly review sessions you might want to reward yourself but instead of rewarding yourself for losing weight, reward yourself for how well you have stuck to your weight loss plan.

Follow this simple process of recording your weight loss progress in a journal to give you the best chance for losing baby weight.
