How To Use A Hairdryer To Create Volume

By:

I think we all want volume in our hair the problem is that not everyone can get this naturally. There are plenty of things you can do to increase the volume in your hair and get the look you have always dreamed of. The aim of this article is to give you some advice and tips on how to add volume to your hair using some hairdryer techniques.

The first thing to do is to prepare your hair which means you will need to shampoo and condition it. We would recommend using a shampoo that is especially designed to add volume to your hair as this will give you another helping hand. When you condition your hair try to use as little as possible. If you over condition your hair you may find that it weighs down too much and causes your hair to look limo and lifeless.

After you have washed your hair you should use a towel to get rid of as much of the excess water as possible. The best way to do this is to wrap the towel around your hair for 5 to 10 minutes. This will ensure that your hair is not too wet when you come to blow dry it and you have removed the excess water before you begin.

You should apply a good volume enhancing mouse to your hair before you begin. The best thing to do is to turn your head upside down and to begin by applying the mouse and then working your way out to the roots. Remember to concentrate on the roots and push your hair up and away from the head which will help to increase the volume in your hair before you even begin.

With your head still upside down grab your blow dryer and start drying. Start with the roost of your hair when you begin drying and continually pull the hair away from the head pushing it up all of the time. When you turn your head the right way up you will find it is full of bounce and volume.

Another technique for using the blow dryer is to keep your head the right way us and use a blow drying brush. Using your brush you can lift your hair straight up and then dry it section by section. With the part you have in the air, focus the hair dryer on the root area, blowing away from the root. Make sure the root area is completely dry before you push out and dry the ends of your hair. Once you let your hair go you will find that the styling product you applied will help to hold the volume in your hair.

If you find the above technique difficult you make it more simple just by blow drying your hair in the wrong direction. This will help to add the volume but in a much easier way. You should however practice using the brush as in the long run it will be the best way to do things.

Once your hair is completely dry consider using a light hair spray to hold everything in place and keep that volume in your hair for as long as possible. The more often you practice these techniques the easier it will become and you will find you hair full of volume all of the time.
