Lots of bloggers and aspiring affiliate marketers know about Clickbank. Clickbank is a website that allows vendors to sell their electronic products and also acts as a middleman for affiliates to promote the vendor's products.
If a consumer makes a purchase through an affiliate's link, then they are paid a commission by the vendor. The good thing about this system is that by using Clickbank, you are guaranteed to get your commission because they handle all of the "paperwork".
Clickbank is a great place for an aspiring affiliate marketer to begin in the vast world of making money online. Now, a lot of bloggers and article marketers will tell you that this is easy. Other marketers will tell you it's hard unless you purchase their product which makes it easy. Most of this is nonsense. I'll put it to you straight - Making money online by promoting Clickbank products is difficult at best. I just started to promote Clickbank products on this blog two weeks ago, and I've only made two sales.
I'm not going to get down on myself, because from what I understand, that's better than average. I'm pretty sure the reason why I made two sales with my blog is because the blog has been around for over six months already. It has several backlinks and I have a Google page rank of two, which took five months to achieve. If you were to just start off with a Blogger blog, you'd probably be looking at at least three months of promoting your blog before you made a sale. I'm going to share some of the things I've learned in this short time, and I'm going to tell you about two Clickbank products that I believe are legit. By legit, I mean that the information they provide will help you make money online with Clickbank.
Some Clickbank tips to help you make money online with your blog:
1. Get yourself a free account with Google Blogger and set up a blog using the Minima template. This template is already optimized for SEO and will help you get listed on the Google search engine faster.
2. Pick three Clickbank products to promote and make them all from the same niche (ex. all make money online, all blogging tips, all weight loss, all relationship advice, etc.).
3. Write two articles about each product and include your affiliate link 3-5 times in each article. If the vendor offers a free ebook (most of them do) or a sample of the product, make sure you include that for download in your article. If there are any videos that you can embed relating to the product you should do that also.
4. Your niche blog should now have 5 or 6 articles. It's time to begin promoting. The first thing you should do is to get your blog verified and submit a sitemap to Google. It's very simple to do. Go to Google Webmaster Tools to set up your free account. They will have the instructions you need to get your sitemap submitted to Google.
5. If you have a Yahoo account, great. If not, sign up for a free account and then go to Yahoo Sites and submit your blog's URL and feed URL. This will get your blog indexed with Yahoo faster.
6. Submit your articles to social media sites. I would recommend Digg, Stumble Upon, Yahoo Buzz, and Reddit to start.
7. Sign up for a free account with Ezine Articles. Write an informative article and in the signature part at the bottom of your article, include a link to your blog. It's important to mention that they are somewhat picky about what they accept, and it will take 7-10 business days for your article to be reviewed and accepted. However, they are the probably the most popular and most respected. Make sure you point your URL to the related article on your blog, and not the home page.
8. Get a Twitter account immediately and tweet your link to your followers. Even one or two hits may result in a purchase. I believe that my first purchase came from a consumer that clicked on a link I tweeted.
Those are 8 free ways to get your Clickbank business started. Remember, these are all free and this is just a basic outline about what you should do to make money with your Blogger blog.
