How To Spot Work From Home Scams

By:

Have you just found a great work at home opportunity? These days, many people are looking for the very same thing. It's one way for single parents to stay at home and be with the kids. It's also a way for people to get some extra money for things they need, or maybe presents for the holidays. But you want to protect yourself and make sure this is a legitimate opportunity, not yet another one of those work from home scams.

Yes, people will find a way to try and steal your money no matter what. They don't care if you're trying to raise a family and need the extra cash. What they care about is getting your money, and they'll keep doing it. It's up to you to learn whether or not this opportunity isn't just some way for a lazy, deceitful person to pad their wallets with extra money. Here are a few tips to keep you from falling for the older and the newest work from home scams.

- Never believe someone who tells you that you can earn insane amounts of money from home. Usually, these will say something like, 'Earn $10,000 a month from home for doing nothing.' These are rip-offs, no matter how convincing they sound. Of course you can earn money when you work from home, but the key word is 'work'.

- Try to get some references from other people who are working with the same company. Find out how it works and if they are satisfied with it.

- Watch out for those 'businesses' who do little more than send you materials for your money and leave it up to you to find your own customers.

- 'Envelope stuffing schemes'-- forget about them. It is one of the oldest work from home scams there is. All they give you for your money are instructions that tell you how to place an ad so that you too can take other people's money.

Most importantly, avoid these work from home scams by using your common sense. Don't believe a company that doesn't allow you to speak with a person, or doesn't give out a real phone number or address. Don't send these people your hard earned money.
