The authenticity of pearls is based upon the certification by the gemological institute. If they pass the test then they are authentic and original. The pearls are distributed according to their shapes, colors, luster and quality and thickness. The prices are also depended on these factors only.

It is very important to decide the quality of the pearl earrings that you are buying. There are simple things that you can try. You can keep the pearls under the suns direct rays. An original pearl will have a lot of imperfections. You can see them when the suns light. Whereas a fake pearl is perfect in shape and hence you will not find any imperfections even under the sun.
