But the question is which affiliate products would give you the best results (i.e. more money)? Below are some tips on how to select the best affiliate products for your blog.

Affiliate Products should be relevant to your blog

Make sure that affiliate products you are going to promote are relevant to your blog. If your blog is related to fitness and health then choose some health related products; if you write about pet care, promote some products for different kinds of pets. The last thing you would want to happen is losing visitors because they get annoyed with the promotions that are totally unrelated to your blogs contents.

Affiliate products should be reliable

Promote only reliable and reputed products. Make sure that programs you are going to promote have good reviews and feedback from its current users.

Is It Saleable?

Keep yourself in the place of your visitors and ask yourself, will you buy this product? Is the price reasonable enough? If your answer is yes, then promote that product by all means. If you yourself will not choose to buy the product, most likely, your visitors wont as well.

Commission and Payout Policies

You earn from the affiliate products through commissions; hence, check the commission percentage if it is reasonable enough. An affiliate commission of at least 20% is acceptable. But try to look for programs and products that can offer higher commissions. Check the affiliate programs payout schedule as well. Most have a minimum payout of $100, but still scout for those with lesser minimum payout amount. The method of payment should also suit you, whether it is through check, Paypal or other means.

It is very important for you to track how your blog is performing in terms of hits and sales generation. The affiliate product or program that you choose should be able to have an accessible and easy-to-use system where you can track your blog sites statistics. Knowing how your blog is performing will help you strategize to maximize its earning potential.
