How To Remove Ink Stains Quickly With Household Products

By:

There are a lot of ways to remove ink stains . The most important point is to get it early and before it goes through the drier. many household items can do an effective cleaning job. let's explore the ink stain removal possibilities.

One of the easiest methods is to hair spray to loosen the stain from the fabric. When you first find an ink stain use a light mist of hair spray on the stain. Then soak the item in one quart of warm water with one half teaspoon of dish liquid and one tablespoon of white vinegar.

These are items found around most houses so stain removal is not expensive and they are very effective. After the item has soaked for thirty minutes rinse the item. If the stain is persistent and is still noticeable then rub with an alcohol pad. Then place a cloth over the stain that is damp with alcohol and weigh it down. Continue this as long as the stain is being removed then rinse and launder the item is cool water.

If the stain is a red ink stain then use the same methods as listed above only substitute ammonia for the white vinegar. This should remove the red ink stain, however if the ammonia or vinegar do not work and the alcohol is not effective then you can use a commercial color removing product. This should be a last resort.

If you have to use this method then test the product first in an inconspicuous place on the item to make sure that it will not remove the color of the fabric itself. After testing, if the product does not harm the fabric then follow the directions on the bottle to remove the stain. The same solution listed above will also apply to removing any ink stains from carpet as well. Just make sure to test the solution on an out of the way place on the carpet before spraying to stain to make sure that the vinegar, alcohol, or ammonia will not have any adverse effects on your particular carpet.

If you have a little patience and use a bit of elbow grease then an ink stain can be removed from almost anything around your house from the laundry to the carpets. Just remember to always get to the stain quickly for easier removal.
