Cryotherapy is one way doctors remove bothersome warts. The treatment involves using liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart in order to kill the virus that is causing the wart and cause it to fall off. The doctor can also opt to do surgery to remove the wart. A good way to get rid of planter warts is to have the doctor perform a laser treatment. Although laser treatment is one of the easiest treatments for plantar warts, it usually scars and may not be good for facial warts.

Patients can also try over the counter medications to rid themselves of warts. The plus side in using over the counter medications is that there is no pain or scarring, and the wart simply flakes away in weeks with regular use of the treatment.
One of these over the counter methods includes using salicylic acid that comes in either a paste or a bottle solution, is a common way to get rid of warts. Another recent option available to patients is to use an inexpensive Freon refrigerant to freeze the wart off.
A couple of disadvantages to this treatment are that it does not get as cold as the liquid nitrogen that the doctor uses and that the applicator is often too large for small warts.
A home remedy that is getting a lot of discussion is to use a duct tape occlusion therapy to remove warts. This method involves putting a piece of duct tape into the warts and leaving it attached to the warts for six days.
The patient must then soak the area in water and scrape it off with a pumice stone or an emery board. One final way of removing warts involves using natural home remedies. Some people have successfully used castor oil, onions and fig juice in treating their warts at home.
Although the treatment may take longer, they eliminate the possibility of scarring as well. This is good news for facial warts.
