There are a variety of procedures that are available for tattoo removal. This includes surgery, laser treatment, and skin peeling methods. Advancements in cosmetic surgery offer various tattoo removal techniques as a solution to get rid of those now unwanted tattoos. A person may want to have a tattoo removed for a variety of reasons which include outgrowing original reasons for wanting the tattoo, starting a new job and would like to clean the skins appearance, and regretting or feeling embarrassed about a certain tattoo on your body.

Three ways by which a tattoo can be removed through surgery are excision, dermabrasion, and salabrasion. Excision is when the surgeon surgically removes the skin where the tattoo is located. Dermabrasion involves the scraping of the skin to remove the tattoo. Salabrasion, a relatively older method, is when the area is literally rubbed very aggressively with salt or a salt sanding block. These methods vary in effectiveness depending n the depth of the ink and the types and colors of inks used.

As for laser treatment, the method works as the laser sends pulses of light at a very high concentration, using different wavelengths based on the colors of the tattoo. In other words, the laser directs energy toward ink in the skin with highly concentrated colored light beams. These laser beams break up ink particles into tiny fragments which are later cleared up by the bodys scavenging cells. It will take a number of sessions depending on the depth of the ink level for the ink particles to be completely fragmented. Laser treatment is chosen by many because this procedure is bloodless and no incisions are made, and also because the laser selectively targets the pigment of the tattoo without damaging the surrounding skin.

And this is how to remove a tattoo.
