How To Raise A Credit Score By Yourself (without Having To Pay An Arm And A Leg!)

Want some straight advice about raising your score by yourself? If you are like the great majority of people who take pleasure in knowing that they have a high credit rating, then you're already pretty frustrated at the high price (and confusing advice) offered by most credit rating clinics and counselors. As a matter of fact, in a recent research study done for the United States Congress, there were More complaints about credit bureaus, non profit counseling facilities AND credit repair companies than all OTHER sorts of consumer complaints.!!!...combined!!!

So why is there such a higher level of misunderstanding concerning credit report repair?

Very Simple. Money!!! Look at all the people and companies which have their hands in your pocket. The truth? Credit rating counselors make money off those with a poor credit rating. (yes....even the non-profits. By the way, did you know that these not for profit credit counselors are funded by banks who do not want you to go bankrupt! Think about it....) Banks benefit from charging you higher rates for your poor credit. Some (but not all) repair companies and attorneys charge exorbitant rates to "fix" your bad credit rating. And the credit rating reporting bureaus themselves make an absolute "killing" sustaining and reporting a credit file containing your past payment history.

It is possible to Fix Your Credit Totally By Yourself.!!!

I've counseled many prospective clients to do so...if they have the time, the perseverance, tenacity, and the PATIENCE to continually dispute items on the credit report (preferably via mail RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED at $5.54 a pop!)

1. Get a copy of your three credit bureau reports and your three FICO scores (don't be fooled by FAKO scores!!
2. Read your credit reports and highlight any information which is derogatory.
3. Check your history for inaccurate information. (hint.!!! you're entitled to 100% true and precise reporting, and the SMALLEST inaccuracies are often grounds for removal)
4. File written disputes (never on-line) with traceable service -- $5.54 each from the United States Postal Service.
5. Keep a file of all your correspondence and delivery receipts. Follow up diligently every time they react.

It's really that simple...and yes, there is a learning curve on finding out what works and what doesn't....time does cost money so now you may see why professionals are entitled to earn a REASONABLE fee for their services....paying around 80 bucks a month for up to six months (maybe longer if you need to remove bankruptcy or foreclosure information on your report.) is really a very small price to pay for a higher credit score which translates to a lower cost of borrowing on such things as homes, cars, auto insurance, etc. But NO....you don't have to pay thousands of bucks for all this knowledge.

You are entitled to a credit report which is both 100% Accurate, 100% Timely, and 100% Verifable under the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act). The ONLY way information is changed on your report (be it through your efforts or those of a professional) is via disputing derogatory information. You can do this yourself or with the help of someone else, but do begin the process today...as your credit score, more than likely, is negatively being impacted by erroneous information. This is hurting you in your wallet Today, this Week, this Month, this Year, and for years to come!!! Take action now.
