How To Quickly Prepare For A Wedding

By:

Before settling down, some engagements last for years while some are just a few weeks long. While every bride knows that preparing a wedding will really demand a lot of time and attention, preparing a wedding in a matter of weeks is a not an impossible feat after all. Here are some tips on how to fast track your wedding if you have only a few weeks to prepare it.

The wedding venue should be the first place you will source. This may be one of the most challenging aspect as venues, particularly hotels are fully booked months in advance. You can call up smaller hotels in your area, or large restaurants offering reception venues as these may have function rooms that are available. If they seem 'regular' to you, why not hold your wedding in a garden of a family member whose home has a garden area where you can hold the reception. Your venue will be unique and would cost really less at the same time, than when you book a hotel function room.

The wedding gown is something that can save you money as you may have limited options to have this done by a designer. For a touch of nostalgia, you can use your mother's wedding gown (and maybe have a few alterations if you want). You can go to thrift stores where various designs are available.

Know your way around a sewing machine? You can even design and make your own wedding gown. Best if you can keep it simple as again, you have limited time to do this.

Do not fret as there are caterers that can accommodate your wedding. You may not get the major ones as well as they may be fully booked but ask family and friends if they can refer another catering group to handle your event. Ask for food tasting so you can select your menu early and give them time to prepare for it and source suppliers.

You can print your own invitation as printing companies may need weeks to do so. You can readily purchase wedding favors simply by going on line. There are online stores offering a complete line up of wedding favors in a variety of themes. Just give them the details and then you simply wait to have it delivered - fast and easy.

If need be, you can ask your groom to take care of some of the details. It is important that you constantly communicate so that despite the short time allotted, you will both still get what you want out of your wedding ceremony.

Most importantly, have a friend or a wedding coordinator handle everything on your wedding day. While the preparation is all yours, remember that you only need to take the role of the blushing bride on your wedding day, and not the coordinator.
