How To Plan The Best Abs Workouts

After your body adapts to those exercises and finds them easy, it asks you to make it do something else to keep adapting.

Your abs workout needs to progress to new levels as your body adapts. You need to start with stable floor exercises using just your body weight, and then progress to unstable floor exercises with weights. When you progress to exercises that reduce support and balance, more and more of your core muscle come into play and help you sculpt your abs.

Start with crunches, leg raises and sit-ups. Then do the same exercises against gravity, then with weights, and finally on unstable surfaces like stability balls.

Lying leg raises are a good exercise to start with. Then progress to lying leg raises on an incline bench, and finally to hanging leg raises. You can also perform lying leg raises on a stability ball, which is an intense exercise to sculpt sharp abs.

To have your abs pop, you need to perform weighted movement exercises.
