How To Pick Your Wedding Photographer

By:

Hi, I'm just writing a short item about wedding photography throughout Exeter. I am lucky enough to be based here is Devon where popular wedding venues can include seaside hotels, stunning country hotels or sites up on Dartmoor. Devon is also a popular place for couples wishing to get married somewhere romantic without all the hassle of going abroad.

I'm a professional photographer myself and I decided it would be fantastic to create about what precisely my work involves. I'm going to try to give some inside information into how I would approach a wedding, recommendations on shooting with daylight, plus some posts about it is very important and what kinds of equipment to use.

In writing these, I think you'll gain a little knowledge that may just help you when contemplating photographing a wedding yourself, or it might help you when you come to choose your own wedding photographer.

I'll also post up a wedding photography check list, offering you strategies for what shots are thought to be essential. Needless to say if you are using a professional photographer, he/she might also have their own ideas and need the freedom to be a little creative. Maybe you have some ideas of your own you would like to see included and I would definitely encourage you to get involved in the process.

Always remember weddings are about celebrating - they should be fun. The more fun you have as the photographer the more relaxed those you are photographing will be. Probably the best method to loosen people up is always to smile as the photographer (note: I always get home from photographing weddings with sore jaws and cheeks as a consequence of of my smiling strategy).

By using a second backup photographer can be a great strategy. It means less moving around during ceremony and speeches, enables one to capture the formal shots as well as other to get candid shots. It also takes a little pressure off you being the one to always get every shot!

For your information, the principle areas I cover are all within Devon. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them. Check back here soon once I write some more articles. Thanks.
