How To Pick Your Best Dating Service

By:

I know many of you are open and curious to try out dating services, especially the ones you haven't worked with before. New things are always exciting! But watch out, they are not all the same as far as quality and getting what you're looking for. It is absolutely crucial that you choose well reputable services when you decide to do online dating or speed dating. I would hate to see you making a conclusion that online dating is not for you just because you had a bad experience with one site.

Let's start with speed-dating. I have had many single friends and clients express interest in doing speed-dating recently. Some of them are just curious about it because they have never tried it before, others prefer face to face interactions to online profiles. What makes a successful speed-dating experience? First of all, you need to have at least ten participants of each gender. Typically speed-dating events attract more men than women so it is not uncommon to see more men show up. The host will usually find a way to work around that. A well reputable speed-dating service would actually make personal phone calls to invite more people in because that is the best way to fill up a room. I have had good experience with HurryDate and Pre-Dating when I was single.

I have also heard terrible things about some other speed-dating organizations. Date and Dash is the worst. Not only will you never get to speak to a live person over the phone; they are known to create a false scarcity online. When you go register online, it will tell you there are two or three spots left, making you think that the event is almost full. Those who decided to register anyway, came to the event to find only two or three people being there. The best advice I can give you about choosing the right speed-dating service is the following: Call them first, if you cannot get a live person on the phone or if your phone call doesn't get returned, don't spend your money on them.

I have a few tips for those who want to try online dating as well. I always recommend to start off with either Match.com or eHarmony. The reason is because they have the most amount of members and you will have more people to chose from. When I help people create their ideal online dating profile, I encourage them to be specific and honest about who they are. The goal is not to attract more men or women to you, the goal is to attract the right people and keep the wrong ones away. Yet, if you chose an online dating service with fewer members, you may have to wait a while to get any response. On the other hand, if you have already tried match and eHarmony and would like something different, Chemistry.com is becoming a very popular dating site, as well as Perfect match. I have a full list of places you can go to. For your own safety, do not sign up with any free dating services. No dating site does background checks on people, but at least paid memberships will have people's credit cards on file. This will ensure higher quality candidates who are serious about looking for a relationship.
