How To Match A Pink Tie

By:

Even if you are tempted, do not think you can wear a pink suit with a same colored necktie unless of course you are a pimp from the 1970's. In that case you probably also have a purple Cadillac and everyone has to wear shades (sunglasses) to even look at you. Taken to the extreme, too much pink will make you sink. But, a tie in such color can also be very cool.

Wearing a rose colored tie shows you are masculine enough not to care about whether you are wearing feminine colors and therefore it can make a bold statement. Pink ties go rather well with many muted suit colors and darker shirts. They look great in front of a solid white shirt with a gray suit. Be aware though, that whenever you wear a pink necktie you will automatically attract extra attention, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the results. Sometimes it is very self-assuring to go against the trend and stand out.

Think of the recent news of Lady Gaga wearing a meat dress. She would probably find even bright magenta ties less than stimulating. For her they would probably not be extreme enough unless they were redpink meat ties. In regular company, a rose necktie does and can work. There are various shades of pink, from salmon to cotton candy and some are quite pleasing to the eye.

Some people have embraced this necktie color and made it an integral part of their cause. In California, USA there is an annual "Pink Tie Ball" to raise money for the fight against breast cancer, where all the gentleman wear pink ties. Wearing such a colored tie is now a sign of solidarity with this cause of fighting women's breast cancer, as is wearing a symbolic pink ribbon in your lapel.

The key to being able to wear a this neck tie is not to refrain from announcing your choice. To look the best with a pink tie, your suit should be dark, your shirt should be white, and the tie should stand out like a lighthouse beacon from your neck and chest. There is nothing subtle about it. Don't wear a pocket square or a boutonniere with a pink tie. There is no need for that, the tie will just upstage them. If you choose to wear a pink tie, stand behind your choice and make the pink tie be the one thing that everyone sees at first when they look at you.

The rose tie is a very positive attractor of attention, so if you are not the type of person that likes to receive attention, it is best that you do not wear a hotpink silk tie. However; if you can handle the glare of the spot lights and the flash of a dozen Paparazzi's cameras on the way in via the red carpet, then the pink mens tie is your ticket to express yourself, gain attention and fame, and nonchalantly pretend to have complete disregard for all the attention you are getting.
