Recently one in every of my friends described how she nearly was physically attacked by someone she didn't know. What stood out in this event, as she told it to me, was that she let her emotions get out of hand. This helped to escalate it. Many of us have let our emotions get the best folks, right? It happens.

What I'm saying is to control your emotions when it is appropriate to try to to so. The kind of emotions I'm talking concerning here is the negative ones.

Awareness is important. By being aware, you will understand at what point you negative emotions start to creep up or even explode. What thoughts come back to your mind once you imagine the smell of a hot apple pie? The smell of a hot apple pie is an olfactory (sense of smell) trigger. Every person will react differently when exposed to certain triggers. What could be positive for one person may be negative for another. If the new apple pie brings regarding a pleasant memory of being acquainted with mom to you, then another person might have a negative memory of an argument with mom.
The foremost necessary thing is to realize what trigger leads up to bringing regarding the emotional memory. If it's a negative emotion that's triggered, then either eliminate the trigger or amendment the perception of it.
