How To Market Your Network Marketing Business

Almost every home based or MLM business is started the same way. New sign-ups are told the same things their sponsors are told. Begin with the "old school" methods that have been used since the eighties.

Little do they realize those methods more closely resemble door-to-door sales or telemarketing than proper and effective marketing. They also don't know it but none of the top earners of today use those methods.

No new members are told that the only top earners who are successful using these methods are people who built up a network of members who like and trust them long ago and were able to bring them over to their new company.

Those "old school methods" tell you to start out trying to sign people up that you know. But your friend and relatives know the business is new to you and how can they trust that it is going to work?

They may like you but how do they know you are any good with running an MLM business? What are you going to do for leads when you have exhausted your friends and family?

Believe me, you will exhaust them. There will be two ways you exhaust them. They will be exhausted from hearing about your opportunity and your list of personal contacts will run out.

Where will you turn for prospects then? The mall? The street corner? The Internet? If you turn to the mall or the street corner you are now no better than a street corner watch salesman.

Do you really think the top earners in MLM or network marketing use that for sales? If you turn to the Internet you will probably find a couple of options that most people use.

Some people will buy a leads list called a genealogy list from sites online and start calling those names but what if those people have been called already and you can't sign up many or any of them? Other people will go to social sites and start sending links for their business to all the connections they can make there.

Those lists can be pretty expensive though and when they are used up so is your money. If you were selling a list of leads online would you sell each name only once and would you tell buyers the names had been sold numerous times?

On the social sites, do you think those people who are doing the same thing with their business links are going to drop their company and sign up with yours the first time they see your link?

Is this how the top earners are building their business online? Just go to Facebook and try it. There are millions of people doing it but does that mean it will work?

The only way to be successful in MLM, network marketing, or any other home based business is the same way traditional businesses do business.

First you learn how to do the business and if it is a marketing business that means marketing training. What if you wanted to become a doctor? Do you think anyone would let you do surgery on their brain with no training?

Network marketing is not brain surgery but it is a business and to have a reasonable chance of succeeding you will need some training. You would learn how to cook first if you wanted to open a restaurant, wouldn't you?

If so, why in the world would you think you would be able to build a successful network MARKETING, multi-level-MARKETING, affiliate MARKETING or direct SALES business without first getting some sales and marketing training?

When someone knows how to do something it is easy. I once ran a residential framing company and when I opened my business the framing part was easy because I already knew everything about framing.

I still had to learn how to run a business but the main purpose of the business was easy as pie. But it didn't start out that way. It was hard before I knew how. Just like network marketing.

It gets very hard when all of your friends stop coming over and won't answer the phone. Your relatives start avoiding you. You have to deal with massive amounts of rejection and all of your efforts on the social sites get nowhere.

There are a lot of people out there who have tried and failed to build an MLM so you should be able to find someone you can ask if you do not believe that. I like network marketing and I am building my own and it still turns me off when people on the social sites start out their first contact with me by telling me to check out their great new company.

No MLM leader or professional marketer would ever try to promote their business to anyone who did not first show an interest. That is just how it is done and once you learn how to market as a professional you will never use those second rate tactics again.

All it takes is some training on how to market and anyone CAN build a network marketing or MLM business. That is also the best way to eliminate all that massive rejection that amateur marketers contend with.

There are no secrets or shortcuts if you want to build a successful network marketing business. All it takes is training and practice on some proper sales and marketing methods and you can be building your business like a professional.
