To make your own Aqua Sand at home you will have to scrounge up the following materials: clean colored sand, a baking pan, your kitchen oven, and some Scotchguard. The pan and ovn is smething you already have, but the ingredients might take a little searching to find. Scotchquard can be bought at almost any thrift store or grocery store, and it comes in a aerosol can. It is used to spray on clothing to make is water repellent. Colored sand is something you can buy at a local craft store. While it might seem that buying these materials is more expensive than just buying the toy at the store, you will be able to make much more for less money doing it yourself.
Here is the procedure you will use to make your Aqua Sand once you have all the equipment and materials gathered together in your kitchen. Go ahead and spread some colored dry sand over the baking pan, how much you use depends on how much you want to make. Spread out the sand nice and even across the pan and let it bake for at least one hour at a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees.
