How To Make Your Employees Love Their Id Badges

By:

Almost all men and women that work in large corporations, middle sized companies and small business organizations where an ID card to work. They are made of plastic, PVC or even bamboo if their company has pro environment concerns and they contain key data information regarding the business organization and the holder. These ID badges at first were used mainly as name badges so that the different employees could easily recognize their peers and learn their names. Later on, especially after the dreadful events of September 2001, ID cards started playing an important role to keep business organizations secure and effectively identify their different staff members.
But no matter how popular these ID badges are nowadays, it is undeniable that most employees do not like wearing them. If they were asked why they do not like wearing their ID badge, they would probably provide multiple different answers. Some of them are afraid that the pins and clips used to hold the badge may ruin their clothing, others consider that the photo in their card makes them look ugly, others would say that the badge interferes with their daily tasks and others would say that they are afraid that having their name and position so clearly visible may put them at risk of suffering from identity theft. From aesthetic to security reasons, different arguments are supported against wearing these cards.
However, business owners and managers have to ensure that their different staff members do not take their badges off and that they wear them at all times. But how can they make their employees love their ID cards? Communication is of utmost importance. It is crucial that employees understand why they have to wear their cards and that by doing so they are not only keeping the company safe but also themselves as the cards ensure them that there are no strangers in the premises. HR managers play a significant role here as they have to develop efficient communication plans that convey the message clearly to all employees.
Another good strategy is to let the employees know beforehand when the photo session for their ID card picture will take place. Thus, they will have time to put on some make up, dress accordingly and comb their hair in a nice way. Make sure that the pictures are taken by a professional photographer who will make his best effort to ensure that your staff members look great in their picture.
