How To Lose Weight In Your Thighs

Women have a true love-hate relationship with their thighs. One of the most common areas I hear my clients (women clients) complain about are their thighs. They would love to shrink them drastically and are hoping that there is some magical exercise or diet pill that will target that area quickly. If there was, the maker of that product would be a billionaire. Unfortunately spot-area training will not work. But you can notice a big difference in your thigh area (better yet, your entire body) by following these easy tips on how to lose weight in your thighs:

1) Add more fiber to your diet. Fiber keeps your bowels moving at a frequent pace flushing the undigestibles and fats out of your body. If you dont think you consume enough fiber in your daily diet, find a supplement to add to your regime. You wont be disappointed with the results!

2) Bring back those public school memories and jump rope! This is a really effective exercise @ toning the thighs. You can jump both feet at a time or alternate one foot and then the other. Just make sure to keep your knees slightly bended and wear good cross-training shoes. You might find it challenging in the beginning (how come it was so easy when we were kids??) but keep it up and before you know it, youll be a pro!

2) Make sure your exercise program involves squats 3-4 times a week. You can start out slowly. Use your own body weight until that becomes easy and then add weights. Your knees should never go past your toes and your back should be straight. If youre not sure if your form is correct, seek out the advice of a personal trainer.

3) Dumbbell lunges are one of my favorite leg exercises. When done properly and with the right amount of weights, they are extremely effective. Add 3 sets of 10 reps of these to your weekly training program. When it feels too easy, up your weights.

Too many women are afraid to weight train. They tend to gravitate towards the cardio and aerobics classes. They fear weights will make them bulky. If you want to know how to lose weight quickly then I suggest you use weights regularly. IF youre pear shaped and all you do is cardio, youll just end up being a smaller pear. If your goal is to change your body shape, adding weights will get you to that goal faster!
