You can lose weight without doing lots of exercise but the fact is the more exercise you do the more weight you will lose and faster.

I know that just the thought of exercise is a pain to some of us. That includes me. However there are big plusses for doing exercise and you don't have to do the heavy stuff. There some easy ways to do it.

All excess fat can lead to nasty physical ailments like diabetes, gout, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, and gallbladder problems. So the first plus is that weight loss exercise can help prevent these.

Secondly being overweight is uncomfortable, ugly and probably makes you feel sad. Exercise can also prevent this with weight loss.

Thirdly being overweight probably means you are not physically fit. Can you run a mile, even 100 yards or for the bus without dropping dead? Being physically fit also usually means you are happy and full of beans - and don't miss the bus so much.

Fighting fat with exercise as well as eating right is important and it works but it's important to get weight loss exercise that interests you. Why? Because if people are not doing something they like it creates a tendency to develop weariness and boredom and they give up.

Other than attending gym, good activities include swimming, running and cycling. These can be performed solo but having a partner or partners is good for breaking any monotony and setting challenges. Many other activities include tennis, squash and badmington.

Its also a good idea at the beginning to measure your effort to see how you improve and gain strength over time. Keep a record.
Exercise is not just for burning calories and weight loss. It builds up the strength and endurance of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. It also has a tranquilising affect on the nerves.

There are many types of exercise and it's a good idea to take professional advice before you begin, especially if you are elderly or have a disability.

Experts can advise on exercises for endurance, for strengthening muscles and to improve joint mobility and posture.
I'm particularly interested in swimming and stretch exercises that also relieve aches and pains. Swimming is good because it exercises all of you and the water can support your frame while you do exercises.

So when you've found some enjoyable regular exercise to do then you need to pay attention to what your eating and that is something else you might need some help with. I think it's important you eat fresh food, not processed, because you also need to be healthy through what you eat. But all that's in another story I've written.
