How To Lose Weight By Eating More Plants And Less Meat

By:

If you want to lose weight and get healthy, you must stop eating meat that is not properly produced. Before it becomes your Big Mac, a cow is fed growth hormones in order for the farmer to get more meat from the cow, and thus more money. This meat is then served on your dinner plate. When you eat a burger, the growth hormones that were given to the cow are then passed on to you. It is the same with pigs, chickens and any other animals that we eat. The growth hormones that were used to fatten up the animals are now fattening you up! It is no wonder why we have a childhood obesity epidemic in America.

A cow on a conventional (non-organic) farm is fed ground-up parts of other animals that are often diseased and full of hormones and toxins. A cow is actually a vegetarian. They are herbivores and are meant to get their energy from plant sources. By being pumped full of growth hormones, toxins and a unnatural diet of pig, chicken, horse, and goat meat, the cow that becomes your hamburger is pretty much poison on your plate. The more meat you eat, the more fat you store in your body and the sicker, and more overweight you will become.

Any meat that is not organic and raised humanely makes us sick and overweight. If you want proof, make sure to check out Morgan Spurlock's eye-opening documentary, "Fast Food Nation" where Spurlock makes himself a human guinea pig. By eating only fast food for 30 days, he raises his blood pressure, raises his cholesterol, causes liver damage, and gains 24 pounds in less than a month. And the kicker is that it then took him 14 months to lose the weight!

One of the biggest myths in our culture is that we need enormous amounts of protein, when in fact too much protein - casein in particular - causes obesity and cancer! Funded by the National Institute of Health, one of the most trusted sources of public funding, Colin Campbell, PhD, conducted a 20-year study on this topic. The results concluded that children who ate diets highest in protein were most likely to get liver cancer, and that those who stayed on a low protein diet were lean, healthy and cancer-free. When two groups of rats were studied, the group that was fed a 20% protein diet showed signs of cancer, while those that consumed a diet of only 5% protein remained cancer-free.

"People who ate the most animal-based foods got the most chronic diseases ... People who ate the most plant-based foods were the healthiest and tended to avoid chronic disease. These results could not be ignored," said Dr. Campbell.

If you want to shed the pounds and regain your health, meat consumption should be limited as much as possible. Do not eat meat from fast food restaurants. You can be sure that their meat is full of toxins, MSG and growth hormones, which will only make you gain more weight. Say no even to the grilled chicken salad at the drive-thru. The ads say that these are healthy alternatives, but this is a huge misconception designed to keep you coming back for more of the unhealthy filth they call "food."

What you can do: Read your labels. Only buy certified organic meat. Only eat free-range chicken. Buy local. Know where your meat comes from. Eat more plants than meat. Have salad with every meal. Become a vegetarian. Once you begin this transition you will see and feel the difference. You will lose weight, your kin will clear up and you will have more energy. It can't hurt to give it a try, right?
