Stunning and beautiful bouquets along with amazing entrancing entertainment set in some of the most vast venues all with spectacular staging. These are all in a typical days work if you are working as an events coordinator. Now take a moment and picture the scene. You are at a party and you have been left with one of those friends of a friends who knows a friend and is their friend. Immediately you find yourself in the middle of always awkward big skills required small talk to overcome the equally agonizing silent moments. Now sadly lets bring this back to reality and lets crash back down to Earth with another vivid visual from the world of events. Back bending budgets endless emails volumes of verbal volley ball and a sea of signage and spread sheets the much more accurate day in the life of an events coordinator. Scenario two however is rather different. You are attending a huge industry event and find yourself gravitating towards a crowd of event professional alike. You exchange tales of the latest on site disasters compare paper cuts from endless envelope stuffing and embark upon on a competition as to who has faced the most sleep deprivation for the love of their work. You talk about the latest exhibition stand technology and a new delegate app available for the iPad then discuss the up and coming webinar and online auction crazes sweeping the events world this is a pretty great life to be leading. You leave having picked up some new ideas and made some great contacts. You travel home on the tube with huge bags under your eyes and your office wear looking somewhat more bedraggled than it was this morning much like the remains of what was a full face of makeup at 9 am.

Consider these setups as though they are two contrasting job specs and its a no brainer as to what will rake in the most applicants. But you also need to combine the two to have a real projection and understanding of what events organising is all about You work hard you play hard if you are doing it right. Life is a perfect balance of sleepless nights and spectacular evenings. What more could you want. A good events agency should love delivering events and believe the balance keeps us well grounded this is what they need to deliver to both their clients and their employees. Variety is the spice of life after all. Our very own Cinderella moment with every event.
