Parenting problems and upbringing children are the most sensitive issues most adults will go through at some point of their lives. When kids are little we come across smaller problems like poor appetite, potty training, and bruises. When our kids become older - more serious problems come into play. Teenage kids can get into a lot of troubles! How to protect them?

The key is to be proactive, seek for advice on parenting, and try to keep children busy and dedicated to something before it is too late.

Teenagers go through some significant changes in their physical and emotional development. Their bodies are changing and hormones do have a big effect on their behaviors and reactions to the world. As a result of those changes and sometimes lack of support teenagers get into trouble. Let's look at some most common teenage problems:

* Self-esteem issues
* Drugs and alcohol abuse
* Teenage pregnancy

The best advice on parenting would be to keep those kids busy as much as possible! This way they would have minimum free time to get involved in unnecessary activities. Here are some tips for parents on keeping their teenage kids busy:

- Create a list of chores and responsibilities they have to follow on a regular basis

- Get them enrolled in a sport activity like hockey, soccer, football, or tennis

- Get them enrolled in another after school activity like dance studio, figure-skating club, swimming pool, art classes, etc.

- Show them your love and remind them that you care about them no matter what

- Have more family time and family activities

Another advice for parents is to try picturing this world through the eyes of their kids. Putting yourself in the shoes of your teenage children and being able to feel what your children feel may have a great effect. It may lead to a deeper connection and mutual understanding with your kids, which is so critical when trying to build an open and healthy relationship.

When teenagers go through hard times, it is so important to show them empathy and love! They might not respond to you in the same way right away, but it will register in their mind and play an important role in their development. Hopefully some of the tips and advice for parents mentioned in this article will help you build a better relationship with your kids and keep them out of trouble.
