How To Increase Your Twitter Sales Potential

By:

While conducting keyword research on Twitter, I have found out that as much as 150 people a day search for the term "Potential Twitter Sale." What is a "Potential Twitter Sale?" I had no clue, but I wanted to find out now that I knew that so many people craved to know what it was.

In order to answer that question the best I could, I decided to put myself in the shoes of a searcher. If I were creative enough to Google that keyword, I would probably be looking to find out what is Twitter Sales Potential. In other words, I would like to know: what is the chance that as soon as I join Twitter - I am going to make a sale?

Assuming that is exactly what people crave to know, I want to answer that question in the best way possible. However, I highly disbelieve that I can come up with a formula that is going to tell you exactly how high your Twitter Sales Potential is. What I can do though, is I can tell you exactly what you can do to increase your chances of being noticed on Twitter, which inevitably will increase your Sales Potential.

The majority of Tweets are never noticed. It happens for a number of reasons. For some, it is because they lack the authority, for others, it is because they don't seem to comprehend how Twitter REALLY works and for some it can be both. But a fact is a fact - for most Tweeple, sending out a tweet has the same effect as giving a speech in the middle of an ACDC concert - the rest of the crowd is never aware of it.

Provide Value in Your Tweets. One thing that makes me sick is when people send me affiliate links and promotions on Twitter. I love VALUE. I love inspirational quotes, funny stories, latest news and shocking videos. I don't like to earn a 45% commission on the front end promoting a product I have never seen before. Give people a reason to follow you. Provide value in your Tweets: be helpful, funny, outrageous and out of the ordinary.
ReTweet Other People's Stuff. Whenever you ReTweet someone else's tweet, it automatically makes you seem like a generous person. It happens because while you can use your 140 characters to promote yourself, you're giving it away to someone else instead.
Use Up-To-Date Tweet Resources. Basically, the idea is to Tweet stuff that is already popular, so you know that your followers will love it and thank you for it. I like to use AllTop and StuffToTweet. More on that here.
Connect Your Twitter Account To Other Social Networks. Nowadays you can connect Twitter with practically any Social Network. Facebok, FriendFeed, YouTube, StumbleUpon and many other social sites are now being connected with each other. So now, if a single Tweet is being sent out - the rest of your social following is exposed to it.
Tweet A Lot. Many Tweeple consider tweeting more than twice a day - SPAM. However, the opposite is the truth. If you tweet only when you have a new blog post out or when you've uploaded a new video - than you're considered a SPAMer. On the other hand, when you're tweeting all day long, inserting that blog post permalink in between your tweets doesn't seem like SPAM, but rather as another value filled Tweet you're sending out.
