How To Improve Our findability

By:

One of the most important qualities of our sites must be their findability, i.e. the quality to be easily found by targeted users. Lets remember that the trend is to increasingly use social networks when searching for information. So when we talk about being found, consider not only Google and other search engines. We also need to be found in social networks.

Findability in search engines

To be easily found has to do with the primary objective of organic SEO. There are basically two ways of deriving traffic to a site. One is through organic positioning, this means to appear with best possible positioning in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages: natural results pages of search engines.) The other way is through PPC (Pay per Click: Pay per click). In general, organic positioning usually takes longer, but it lasts longer than PPC campaigns. So if we make an Adwords campaign, you may dramatically increase your visits, but only for the duration of the campaign. When this expires (end of the campaign) probably metric again will be just as bad as before. However, although organic positioning requires constant effort, those who achieve to position themselves among the five first sites will tend to remain well positioned for longer, and therefore to receive a flow of more constant traffic, but not as explosive. Do not fit yourself to good life. Nothing is forever. If you do not maintain an attitude of constant struggle to position the site, competitors will exceed us very shortly.

The ability to be found in search engines depends on the classical and traditional SEO: optimize your sites, improve usability, improvement of the keywords, increase links from other sites with good Page Rank. Oh, I forgot. Internet is a semantic network, none of the above shall have the desired effect if your site does not provide relevant content, interesting to readers, with semantically related keywords, and regularly renewed. In short, quality content is what will get a good organic positioning, and place it in the top ten SERPs.

Findability in social networks

As mentioned, users increasingly use social networking, especially Twitter and Facebook, to find information. How is this?, may be asking those who do not have twitter habits. Twitter has recently improved its search capabilities to organize and categorize the information entered by its 160 million users. Therefore, it is possible to search for keywords, but not just any keyword. The keywords in Twitter are marked with the symbol #-hashtag. In addition, key phrases are not written with spaces on Twitter, so for example web positioning becomes # posicionamientoweb. We all know that, but we keep forgetting.

For these reasons, it is necessary to provide tweets of findability, not just tweeting the links or the info that interests us, but do not forget to mark our # key terms, such as Excellent #SEOtool: http : ..

Not only on Twitter, but everywhere, create accounts with representative usernames, if possible. It is always better Industrial Refrigeration that Dick1972. Complete profiles on social networking accounts. This is really important. Do not forget to enter your website, tags and description, if possible.

Consider your Facebook page as part of your website. Get to promote it, and to derive traffic to it. It is not just an accessory but it is an important part of the arsenal of communication channels of your business.

The idea is to participate, but the way we do it will make a big difference in the ability of our potential customers in order to find us.
