How To Improve A Hitachi Drill Battery

Know that you can improve a Hitachi drill battery by upgrading the battery that comes with the drill you've bought. Some companies have started making lithium batteries for your Hitachi drill. These batteries are stronger and last longer, therefore you can do more work with less charges.
Keep your cordless drill battery strong and improve its performance by charging it completely after your battery runs down. The way to tell if your battery is fully charged is to look for a red and green light on the charger. When the red light is on, your battery is charging. When the green light is on, the charger has cut off and your battery is fully charged.
Improve a Hitachi drill battery and make it last longer by charging your battery completely when you first buy a cordless drill. Many people make the mistake of charging it for only 10 or 15 minutes. This actually lowers the life of the battery. Manufacturers recommend a full charge the first time you use a Hitachi drill because the battery has a memory. If it's not charged completely the first time, the battery's memory will consider that a full charge, and the battery won't last as long as it should on a charge.
Create a drawing of the battery bundle's connections. Carefully disassemble the battery bundle by cutting through the tape holding it together. Do not disconnect any of the cells from one another. Diagram which cells are connected to which other cells and how they are connected. Once you finish your repair, you will need the diagram to know how to reassemble the battery cells.
Reassemble the battery pack, using the paper tape to hold the batteries in the correct arrangement. Reinsert the battery bundle into the battery compartment, replacing any additional springs or materials in their correct places. Screw the compartment back together.
Position the new battery cells in the correct places. Solder the connections on the battery cells to reconnect them to the neighboring battery cells. The battery strap at the positive and negative end of the new battery cell should be soldered just as the previous battery cell was.
Read the multimeter's voltage indicator. If it registers at at least one volt higher than the voltage listed on the battery, it indicates a fully charged battery that is able to take a full charge in a reasonable period of time. If the multimeter does not show a higher voltage, continue charging the battery.
Check the voltage indicator on the multimeter. A fully charged battery should test at least 1 volt higher than the voltage that is listed on the battery. For example, an 18-volt battery should test at 19 volts or higher.
If the voltage indicator shows a high voltage, but the battery is still not holding a charge, it may need to be repaired. In that event, take the battery to a tool repair shop for more thorough testing and repair.
Turn the battery pack over so the batteries slide out. Drill dirvers use very little power, so there are only four to six battery cells. Replace all the cells, or you may have to repeat the process again.
Replace the battery cells in the battery pack. Make sure you insert the cells the correct way. The batteries are labeled "Positive" and "Negative," as is the label on the battery pack.
