Text to HTML - Hyperlinks
Did you ever wonder how "they" make the text on a website, blog, article or email "clickable." This is actually called a hyperlink. It is done by a simple HTML code. That is the code that tells the website what to show the viewer when the site is accessed. While it isn't necessary to know how to write HTML code to be an effective internet marketer, some knowledge can make life a little easier when needed.
As an Internet marketer who works from home, I spend a lot of time writing, reading emails, and coaching. This little piece of information has proven to be invaluable over the last 11 months because I am constantly placing my website address everywhere. This little tool lets me do it with style and variety.
Most Blog Sites, Article sites, and email platforms today have a linking option on the tool bar. It is usually the one with the "chain link" as the button's icon.
The steps to using it are VERY basic. Just highlight the word you want to make "clickable" and click the button. The system walks you through the rest of the process. You can do the same thing with graphics and pictures as well.
However, if there are no buttons, you will need to use this little piece of HTML code. Some sites will allow this to be used and most will not. But if you are writing articles, almost all Resource Boxes will take this code to link to your websites.
Say you want to Link your website: MYWEBSITE . Simple write the code as follows:
<a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">MYWEBSITE</a>
Or link the words: CLICK HERE like this:
<a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">CLICK HERE</a>
That's it! Easy as pie.
Sometimes, when all else fails, you simply need to make your website visible and to make it clickable too, just place the http:// in front of the www.mywebsite.com.
