How To Have A Successful Network Marketing Business

One of the most important concepts to realize if you have a network marketing business is relationship building. This goes with the idea of 'networking' which when applied to people means 'to know and be known without having an agenda'. Just as you 'visit' with friends and family, you will 'network' with your business associates to get to know them and to allow them to know you as a person first.

When someone knows you and trusts you it is much easier for them to be open-minded about what you are advising them. To give an example of the difference between a network marketing business and a telemarketing business, let's create a telephone call scenario.

The first difference is that if you are using ethical, permission-based strategies to get your leads, the person will have opted in to your list perhaps through a leads portal where you are offering something for free, such as a newsletter or report. They are giving you permission to contact them. Conversely a telemarketer has gotten your number from a phone book or other anonymous list and you have no idea who they are, nor have you invited them to call.

The major difference between a network marketing business and a telemarketing business will also be very apparent. The network marketer will have a conversation with you. They will ask you what your interests are, what your plans are, what you are trying to do and find out how they might be able to help you. They will get to know you in a two-way conversation and in this way you will also get a sense of who they are.

A telemarketer will, the minute you answer the phone, from out of the blue, start rattling off a script and (test this sometime) - if you say 'no thank you', they will just keep right on reading at 100 miles per minute. If they do by some odd chance hear you, they will still keep right on pitching at you - maybe something different than what you said 'no thank you' to.

Do you see the difference? One is conducive to relationship building and business and the other is just plain rude.
