How To Have A Good Voice For Singing

So you want to be a good singer and you know that the first thing you must develop is by having a good singing voice. But how are you going to do that? So, let us take a look at how you can develop a good voice for singing.

The first thing you should know is that the wider your vocal range, the wider your vocal versatility which will be enable you to be able to sing more varied choices of songs so that you can have a wider repertoire. Besides, most people are deeply impressed by good singers who have wide vocal ranges because these singers are able to sing effortlessly and people's souls just soar along with their heavenly voices.

So if you want hit the notes effortlessly when you sing, then practice with vocal exercises that are designed to increase your voice range. By having a wide vocal range, you can also help to bring out the colors, dimensions and emotions in your voice to excite your audiences.

Another important factor in widening your vocal range is so that you will be able to blend your vocal resonances. Your vocal tone will resonate in your throat, mouth, chest, facial and head cavities. By understanding how your voice resonates and being able to control the resonance put you way ahead of other singers who do not understand this concept and thus have no control of this aspect of singing.

When you sing through different notes, the resonance changes along as well. For example, when you sing the low notes, most of the resonance will be felt in your mouth, face and chest cavities.

Try it now, hum a few very low notes, can you feel your teeth vibrating? Put a palm on your chest, can you feel your chest bone vibrating as well? Similarly, as you sing higher notes up the scale, the resonance moves up along too and up all the way to your head. This is called the "head tone". The change of resonance is also known as the changes of voice registers.

To develop a nice tonal quality to your singing voice, you must be able to glide through the various registers easily and effortlessly without any breaks in between the register changes. This can be a difficult thing to do for many singers if they are not trained to do that.

It is known that the most pleasant vocal sound a good singer can produce is the mix of the head and chest tone, sometimes known as the commercial tone. So if you want to develop a good singing voice, then work hard at developing your mixed voice!

Although this mixed tone is a very pleasing tone, it is one of the most difficult singing skills to master but many singers have done it successfully with good voice training. So are you willing to put in the effort to get it too?
