It is critical to stay focused when you are losing weight because the way you think is more than half the battle. You've heard it before, "If you believe it, you can achieve it," but it also works another way. If you think you CAN'T do something, then you never will.

Now, maybe this is merely my observation or maybe it really is a human flaw but I observe more regularly that people give in to the negative part of that quote. "See, I knew I wouldn't be good at dropping weight" or "Exercising simply doesn't work for me" or "I tried but I guess I'm always going to have this large belly." WELL, OF COURSE YOU ARE, talking to yourself like THAT!

Those statements are just confirming the negative ideas your mind has already outlined for you. The human flaw comes in as the acceptance of "being right" even if it's in the wrong circumstance. By doing what you think you "should" do and not succeeding at it like you "knew" would happen, your mind verifies the negative thought you had all along and you recognize it as a fact.

But try these reducing pounds ideas.

As you're sitting yourself down to enjoy a healthy meal you have prepared, think to yourself, "I KNEW I could do this! I knew I could rely on myself to make healthier food choices so that I can do better at reducing my weight. I knew I would delight in every bite of this because I know it is great for me and I understand my body will GREATLY benefit from this delightful meal."

Utilize this tip at EVERY meal, even if you're not totally convinced yet. After your unconscious mind hears it enough, it will start to believe and it will wish to assist you consistently make the best choices to keep confirming the belief that you CAN do it instead of the negative one, saying you can't.

And on the flip side of this, when you're contemplating pigging out on a very unhealthy meal, tell yourself, "I know this is very bad for me and this meal will not help my body as much as a healthier option would. I know that if I cheat, I will not feel good about consuming the junk food. If I choose to eat unhealthy foods, I am not confirming my notion that I CAN lower my weight and eat healthier." In no time your mind will be so deterred by junk foods that you won't even hunger for them!

These are some of the best reducing weight ideas I can give you because they really help you discipline yourself so you don't even want to cheat. Actually, you feel so great about what you're eating, you don't even think about cheating because it's so detrimental.

I never understood what was happening in MY mind as I make my food choices but in breaking it down for you, that's PRECISELY what passes through my thoughts! Not word for word naturally but certainly the same cutting weight tips!

When I make myself a very healthy meal, I think to myself how great it looks, how great it will taste, and how happy with myself I am for making that meal rather than selecting something unhealthier because it was easier. I really do enjoy each and every bite because I KNOW each bite is wonderful for my body.

And IF or when I even think about getting something unhealthy to eat, I think to myself what a wrong selection it would be because it does not follow my philosophy. I truly feel bad (and turned off) for going against myself like that because I feel so strongly about making sensible food choices. I know that snack will not give me good nutrition to help me in lowering my weight- it will only add to the fat I don't even want! And that's sufficient in making that food so unappetizing to me that I don't even desire it anymore.

Bottom line is, I've been repeating those beliefs in my mind within the last year (at least) and I would say that after a couple of months, they grew to become a part of me. Once I incorporated these reducing weight tips into my mind and my belief system, I could make smarter food choices more naturally and minimize my weight down to a weight I am VERY proud of.
