How To Go From Stuck To Unstoppable!

Let's start this article with the following question? What is the level of your ability to shift from a stuck state into a determined resolve so you stay enthusiastic in the face of adversity? In todays article we are going to examine what steps you can take to stay empowered as you work toward achieving a goal or a desired result. I like to use the word result instead of goal, because a result is what you are really after. The word result has more juice in it than just the word goal. In the dictionary, the word result is defined as something that happens as a consequence of taking action.

To make this as real as possible, please think back to a day that you woke up and you decided you were going to give your all to a specific result you wanted to accomplish. You jumped out of bed and into action you went. During the following weeks you took massive action and even though you ran into some roadblocks, you managed to plow through them effortlessly. It seemed like nothing was going to stop you. Wow, you never felt so committed, and you even started to believe that you were going to achieve your outcome way ahead of schedule.

Then the inevitable happens. You experience your first breakdown. It sucks all the wind out of you, its a low blow below the belt, and you just don't have the energy to stand up. It might be something along the lines of an unexpected letter from the IRS collecting an outstanding debt.

Or maybe it's a big fight with a loved one, or you realize that it's the end of the month and you don't have the money to pay your rent. So what do you do? Do you throw in the towel and give up on your dreams?

The first thing I want you to realize is that you should never use your circumstances as an excuse to give up on your dreams. That's a mediocre mentality. Just understand that it's a very normal thing to experience breakdowns when you're doing something you've never done before. It's all new territory. It's all happening because you're chasing a new dream and becoming a person you have never been before. You're going from caterpillar to butterfly, from stuck to unstoppable! This is all part of the process.

One thing I have noticed that many people struggle with a lot is they get really frustrated, fearful and attached to the process of achieving a desired result, so they become detached from the actual outcome itself. Let me expand a bit on this, because I really want you to understand this powerful concept. You see, many people want the outcome very badly, yet when they stop and look at the process, at what it will take to get there, they tend to stop and say Wow this is going to be a lot harder than I thought. Or, what was I thinking when I decided to take this on?

Thinking like this literally drains your energy and it's no wonder you suddenly start to loose your commitment and desire to achieve this intended result.

The secret is to attach yourself to the outcome and not the process of what it will take to get there. The more you attach yourself to the benefits you will have once you achieve this result, the more you will figure out ways to make it happen. The more meaning and benefits you attach to the outcome, the more important it will become to you and the less significant the work to get there will be.

People who never succeed tend to focus on what it's going take to make it happen, while champions focus on what achieving that outcome will make available in their life. Having said this, I now have a powerful question to ask of you. If you were to achieve that one result that would literally ROCK YOUR WORLD, what would that make available in your life? Let me share with you a story of how this made a huge difference in my life. For many years I spoke on stages in the areas of sales, personal development, leadership and similar related topics in my previous industry.

People always told me that I was a great speaker, and that I should do it professionally. All I kept saying was sure, someday I'll do it, but that day never came. Then one day my good friend Ray Valle, who happens to be someone I have a lot of respect and admiration for, said Yo dude what's stopping you from starting your professional speaking business. I said, frankly I don't know. Now, please bear in mind that I had previously been a speaker on stages in front of hundreds sometimes thousands of people and with all that experience I still did not know the answer. I guess you could say that I was stuck.

When you're stuck it seems that nobody or nothing can make the difference, but trust me that's only your perception, because there's always a way. All it takes is distinguishing the meaning you give to what it is you're dealing with. For me, I was attaching all the work it would take to get my new business off the ground, instead of just focusing on what it would make available if I built a successful online and offline speaker business.

This all shifted for me when my friend asked me what building a successful author, coaching and speaking career would make available for me? I thought about it for a good moment and in a low voice I said many things. He said like what? Be specific please. For the first time in a long time I felt very uncomfortable because I was used to putting people on the spot, but now it was the other way around.

Then I summed up the courage and said "Well it would allow me the opportunity to serve more people. I would be able to impact thousands, maybe even millions, through my message. I would be able to buy more rental properties. I would be able to travel more. I would be able to save many divorces from happening and help empower many people to start or succeed in starting the business of their dreams". The more I kept speaking, the more fired up I became. Truthfully, I have never been the same since that day. This simple exercise helped me go from "Stuck to Unstoppable" and I'm inviting you to do the same today. Pick an area in your life where you feel like you are stuck, do this exercise, and just watch the magic unfold. I promise that if you do take it on, it will Unleash Your Inner Champion.
