How To Go From Love Handles To Abs In A Matter Of Weeks

By:

Do you want to go from carrying embarrassing love handles around to sporting a set of sexy abs? Well, I am about to give you the basics of what to do to achieve your goals.

For a point of reference to start seeing your abs men need to be below 10% body fat and women need to be below 16%.

The problem most people have when trying to find their abs is that they do not know what they are doing. It may sound obvious but you need to burn a lot of calories, but most people honestly do not know how to do that. Everybody always gravitates to the treadmills or the Stairmaster to start a journey that leads nowhere with no results. Even if you spend an hour on the Stairmaster you will only lose about 500 calories. I know, I have done it. Since a pound of fat takes 3,500 calories to burn you still have about 3,000 calories to go.

People logically tend toward cardio exercises because they think, rightly so, that they can burn more calories in an hour of running than of lifting weights. This is true however once you stop running the fat burning qualities stop as well. That is when the fat burning qualities of lifting weights begin.

Because weights build muscle and muscle burns fat you will burn more fat throughout the day. But, if you do compound exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time your body will enter a state of metabolic shock that causes it to burn fat at an even higher rate throughout the day. This is how you go from love handles to abs!

But the equipment we are going to use to do this is called a kettlebell. This is a cannonball shaped device with a handle on it and, because of its design, is ideal for swinging which adds a cardiovascular element that is typically unavailable in weight lifting. By using a KB you can actually burn up to 20 calories a minute. However, we are going to ramp up the fat burning effects of the KB by using it in what is referred to as high intensity interval training. This is simply moving from one exercise to another with only a brief period of rest.

Here is a typical workout using a KB.

Pull ups, Dips, Renegade Rows, Clean and press, Military press, Rows.

Do these exercises in a circuit, when you are done, start again and go as many times as possible. This will have the effect on your body of throwing it into a state of metabolic shock so you will be burning calories at a higher rate for 24 hours and be able to lose as much as 1% of body fat per week.
