How To Go About Choosing A Maid Of Honor For Your Wedding

By:

All of you would have seen the bossy maid of honor at the weddings. What's so special about maid that will help you with nearly everything and how do you choose one? Let's see the role of one.

Although you may have many options among your friends for choosing a maid of honor, it is not really easy. No wedding is perfect and many unexpected things can happen. And some of them may just happen because your maid of honor's duties are vaguely defined or poorly communicated. There is more to this wedding position than being a ceremonial figure who steps off the plane and walks down the aisle before the other bridesmaids. When you choose a maid of honor, you are choosing a person to help you with all aspects of your wedding - help you find your dress, throw a bridal shower, coordinate the purchase of all the bridesmaids dresses, and take care of all the little details on your wedding day to make sure that you don't carry any stress over these aspects. Most often, she leads the bachelor party and/or bridal shower, and tries to be there for the bride during the planning process, and the ceremony itself.

Here are some tips on choosing and communicating with your maid of honor:

1.Tell her what you really want and hear her views. See if she is up to the task and capable of rising to your expectations.

2.The maid of honor need not necessarily come from your family. If your best friend's been with you all times, then choose her as she deserves it.

3.Consider more than one maid of honor as there is no rule limiting the number of the maids of honor. However ensure that your potential maids divide responsibilities, communicate well and avoid feelings of jealousy.

4.Be realistic. Look at past performance and look at her life ahead.

5.Run through each every aspect listed below with your maid of honor and clearly communicate all her work responsibilities.

*Ensure proper coordination between all bridesmaids.
*Assist with the rehearsal dinner.
*Keep in close touch with the bride and cater to all her needs and concerns.
*Help the bride with her makeup, hair, and accessories on the big day.
*Serve as a witness in the signing of the marriage license.
*Assist the bride with her veil and train (if her gown has one). Also, take care of her bouquet during the marriage ceremony.
*Hold the groom's ring until the appropriate time.
*Make one hell of a toast to commemorate her dear friend's new adventures in life and love!
