How To Get Traffic To Your Website

Ok, so you have your blog ready to go and you are writing useful content. Your blog is going to explode with traffic now, wait a second slow down. It is not quite that easy, once you get your blog rolling you must then begin to take steps to get traffic to your site.

Here is a list of major tools you can use to generate lots and lots of traffic:

First make sure you have useful relevant content, if you don't have this right you won't get any traffic.
Get Links that point to your website. It is important for two reasons 1. Increases your page rank which brings in Google search engine traffic. 2. Gets links to your site and that brings visitors.
Make Videos and post them on You Tube. Then on your You Tube Channel have a link pointing back to your site. If your videos are good enough you will get traffic.
Use Social networking sites to help you spread the word about your site. The main ones are twitter, facebook, linkedin, and myspace.
Use other websites that promote content such as Digg, Stumble Upon and Technorati.
Use good SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Send content to your readers via an email mailing list. A good email program is Icontact.
You can also do a guest post on other blogs.

These are some tools that you can use to bring traffic to your website. If you follow these you will over time have a successful website. Do not be discouraged if your traffic does not jump up overnight. A good website takes some time to get a large amount of traffic unless you get lucky like some popular blog or website picks you up and sends visits to your site. That can happen because I had a two week old site getting a thousand visitors a week because I got found by a large site. However don't count on that happening just stick to the tools and keep writing that content and you will have a traffic machine in about 6 months.

Traffic is a motivator to a webmaster because when you see that people are enjoying your hard work. That gives joy to help people, and you know then that your page will begin to make money for you. Traffic to your website is a must if you are going to profit at all from your website. The truth is that most people that make a site never see any money or if they do it is very little. Don't let that discourage you because most people quit too easily, if you don't quit you can do it.
