How To Get The Things You Want - Take A Cue From The Baby

By:

How to get the things you want? The answer is, take a cue from the baby.

You may find this suggestion totally absurd and think that it is childish for a grown up to imitate a baby. Well, I am not suggesting that you cry like a baby over spilled milk or throw a tantrum to get the things you want. There are certain characteristics displayed by babies which when applied will certainly bring you towards your goals.

When a baby first emerges into this world, he is totally helpless, cannot walk on his feet and needs to be carried. Most babies learn to crawl between six and ten months. Crawling helps a baby develop his muscles to prepare him for the next stage walking. When the baby is stronger, he will try to pull himself up to a standing position, usually by grabbing onto some furniture. Sometimes, he may fall and start to cry, but that does not stop him from trying again later. Once he can balance himself, he will start to cruise around the place with the help of some furniture. As his confidence level increases, he will let go of whatever he is holding and try to take a few steps on his own. He may fall or sit down in his few attempts, but the amazing thing is, he will not give up until he accomplishes his mission.

If you have a goal, whether it is to learn to play a musical instrument, to be an accomplished artist or to set up your own business, draw up a plan. Learn the skills required. Do the things you need to do to get you from where you are to where you want to be. Step by step. Stage by stage. You may fall along the way and get bruised. It may hurt but you know that it is only temporary. Celebrate every successful milestone no matter how small. Never give up. If babies can, surely you can too. Press on until you accomplish your mission.
