How To Get The Most Out Of Florida Holidays

By:

When Walt Disney decided to build his theme park in 1955, Florida holidays became an exciting dream for many young families. When Florida is mentioned, theme parks and roller coasters usually spring to mind, but this beautiful state has so much more to offer than you may first think.

It's important to know what you want to see and do on Florida holidays before you go to make sure you stay in the right location. Disney MGM Studios, The Epcot Centre, SeaWorld, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World are all easily accessible from places such as Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and International Drive.

If you'd rather be nearer the beach on your Florida holidays then you could head for the west coast and stay in St Petersburg or Clearwater where you can also visit Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay and the legendary Salvador Dali Museum.

Cocoa, New Smyna and Daytona are the best beaches to the east of Florida. And all are handy for a visit to the J. F. Kennedy Space Centre where you can see the shuttle launch pad and perhaps even meet a real astronaut.

Miami Beach has great water sports facilities, while Naples could see you relaxing in a luxurious bungalow on the beach. You can scuba dive to America's only coral reef, swim with dolphins or try deep sea fishing on your Florida holidays if you choose the Florida Keys as your destination.

If it's a more natural environment you are after then the Everglades National Park is where you need to be, the largest sub tropical wilderness in the USA and the only place on earth where you can see alligators and crocodiles sharing the same natural habitat. Intriguing insects and beautiful birds appear round every corner, and you may even be lucky enough to see the endangered Florida Panther while you are there.

Once you've chosen the area you need to be in, you need to choose your accommodation. Eating out can be an adventure in itself in Florida so many people choose room only or bed and breakfast boards for this reason. Booking all inclusive Florida holidays will be a relaxing taste of luxury, but you may not be as inclined to explore this beautiful state as you may not want to leave your first rate hotel.

Those who are on Florida holidays to hit the theme parks will probably benefit from choosing room only accommodation as you don't really spend very much time there. Think carefully about what you need from your accommodation before you book to ensure you get the best option for your holiday. Choosing accommodation with good facilities is a necessity if you feel you may spend a little time there in between theme park visits. Disney All Star Resorts offer themed accommodation such as Sport, Music and Movie with novelty shaped pools and giant characters keeping the fun factor alive all through your holiday.

Another option would be to stay in a Disney Luxury Homes with private pool, sleeping up to 12 and central to all major theme parks, ideal for larger groups.

Making sure you choose the best location and accommodation for your trip will make sure you get the best of everything your Florida holidays have to offer.
