Snoring can be a major health problem - in fact it can be a cause of divorce and many snorers and their partners are often anxious to get a solution which is the reason why many sufferers and their partners look towards getting an anti snoring device that will cure the snoring.

This is fine but on many occasions the device often will not work because the snorer does not really understand and sometimes accept the cause of the snoring in the first place. I'm not trying to be smart here but often people who are overweight are in a state of denial and there is a very strong link between high BMI (Body mass index) and snoring.

Sometimes therefore, it's not really about just buying something whether it's a snore pillow or nasal spray but looking at eliminating other factors that may be causing the snoring.}

I can give an example. When my menopause began I started to snore. It continued to get more pronounced and my spouse was constantly prodding me at night to literally change position as it did seem to stop when I went on to my side.}

Now I wasn't overweight, in fact I'm quite small so I knew I didn't have a weight problem. However it was getting louder so we both sat down and discussed it. Now, what my spouse noticed was that each time my period was nearing the snoring would start and then recede and stop afterwards. It's odd that I did not realize this but my husband certainly did!

Once we had an idea what was causing the problem I then went to see my doctor and he prescribed some hormonal medication ( I won't go into details here on the type of medication as everyone is different)

When my next period was due - I had stopped snoring. This seems to have been the cause.

So why have I told you this?

This is to illustrate to you that you just should not go out and buy an anti snoring device straight away until you have an honest look at what may be the trigger of the snoring and tackle that first. Your snoring may indeed be something very easy to solve

I also know that the cause(s) of your snoring may be more complicated so you should always if you suspect that there may be some underlying health issue you should consult your doctor.
