As we get older, our body, skin and hair are effected by man-made and natural elements. We long for the means to replace the dry wrinkled skin with healthy smooth skin. Here are some easy steps to take:

1. There are natural things we can do to get smooth skin, such as drink lots of water for moisturizing the skin.

2. Eat lots of vegetables and fruit to give your skin the water and nutrition that heal and moisturize.

3. These, along with the benefits of lean proteins and whole grains, may have a positive effect on the condition and texture of your skin, especially facial, according to Mary Lupo, MD, clinical professor of dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine.

4. Eating fish every week can help hydrate the skin because it contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

5. Getting plenty of exercise is another answer in acquiring smooth skin. Whether we walk, jog or swim, the action of our bodies causes an increase in blood flow to all parts of our body including our skin, bringing a flow of nutrients and essential moisture. It also causes us to breathe in more oxygen and breathe out more of the bad carbon dioxide. As the body gets rid of toxins, it improves the health of the skin as well as the other body parts.

6. Never lighting up a cigarette is another way to get smoother healthier skin. Smoking ages the skin, not to mention the other unhealthy effects it has on the body.

7. Getting 8 or 9 hours of sleep is also imperative in having healthy skin.

8. Using sunscreen when soaking up the sun is yet another way to help your skin look healthy and smooth.
