If you're looking to acquire muscle mass but do not want to go near steroids, you might want to heed the suggestions given below, as many successful bodybuilders have.

Compound Exercises

Take a Break

Let your body have some time to rest. Every three months or so, you should take a break for about two weeks from exercising, When you get back to your routine, you'll certainly see that you've more new muscle to take on in your following round of bodybuilding.

Eat Often

Don't have three traditional meals in a day. Instead, have six or seven smaller ones while eating simply to refuel the proteins and not until you're bloated.

Eat Right

Consume lots of good foods that aren't junk or processed. Ice cream, chocolate bars, French fries, sodas, coffee, and beer and spirits are your enemies.

Rest

Eight hours of sleep in a day are the least that are recommended but if you get more its always beneficial for you. This is because exercise deteriorates muscle while sleep repairs it up.

You may notice that supplements are not mentioned when we talk about gaining muscle. This is because their use is really not mandatory even though they are not detrimental in the same way drugs are. Supplements wont be needed if you follow the suggestions above properly and you're determined. If you are one of the hard gainers, you can consider using them moderately.
