How To Get More Targeted Traffic - The Best Way To Get More Website Visitors

By:

Whether you're selling something, or just want to get the word out, you need ways to get more targeted traffic -- preferably without having to pay for Pay-Per-Click Advertising. How about a way that delivers a lot of bang per unit of effort without costing an arm and a leg? Read on for an alternative method that can get you lots of website visitors fast and for a very reasonable price. And that method is... Press Releases!

That's right. They provide just about the fastest way you can get targeted traffic to your website. Of course not just any press release will do the trick. There are a few things you have to get right.

1) Pick good keywords

That's a lot like article marketing. You have to do your keyword research first. But there is also a difference: Because a lot of the better PR sites can get their releases onto Google News, yours can rank well even if the keyword is quite competitive.

On the other hand, you don't want to overdo the optimism. The chances that you'll score the number one spot for Internet Marketing aren't very high. And there is another problem as well... If you select a keyword that is too broad, you may not reach your target audience. Think about what someone looking for you is likely to type into the search engine -- and go for that.

2) Write compelling copy

Press releases are a bit tricky to write. You want to make them compelling, yet you're not allowed to "sell" outright. In fact, you're required to keep them in the third person, so you can't start them by asking a question, such as, "Do you want to..." That will simply get your submission rejected.

On the other hand, there's a way to get the "you" back. You just have to quote someone else as saying it. Expert Joe Smith, for example, can easily be quoted as saying, "You really need to know what you're doing when you choose an affiliate marketing program," or whatever the case may be. Of course, they also have to be well-written.

3) Include something newsworthy

It doesn't have to be anything ground-breaking, but you do need to have some kind of news worthy of spreading if you want your story to be accepted by the better press release companies.

Fortunately, a lot of things can be newsworthy: a new website, a new ebook, a book launch, a new membership site, an update to an already published book, a teleseminar, a webinar, or any other interesting event. Even a virtual poetry reading will work.

4) Pick the right press release sites

Finally, you need to pick the right press release site or sites to get the best results. Check out which ones tend to appear at the top of Google results for the keywords you're considering. Make sure the company you pick gets its releases included in Google News. That's the key to getting more targeted traffic, which means, you'll be getting lots of website visitors fast.

The combination of those things, good keywords, compelling copy, newsworthy content, and the right press release sites, can make submitting press release one of the most powerful ways to get the word out about your business very quickly. Be sure to incorporate all of them into your press releases if you want to get results.
