How To Get More From Your Suv?

The SUVs are getting more and more popular every day. At first the SUVs were known for their off-road capabilities, but the modern models are suitable for highway use. Despite the fact that your SUV will come with all kind of features, I am pretty sure that without the right SUV tires you will not be able to use it all.

If you want to choose the best SUV tires for your vehicle, you should make the choice depending on the way you plan to use it. There are SUV tires suitable for all kind of driving "" off and on road or both. Depending on your requirements, you might need more than just the passenger type tires. SUV tires can be divided into three categories, highway-terrain (HT), all -terrain (AT), mud-terrain (MT). These tires perform differently pertaining to their design characteristics.

Highway-Terrain or HT tires are intended for heavy on highway and light off highway drives. The tire"s tread pattern is ribbed and is less aggressive that allows better brakes and traction for streets and highways. An HT tire last longest of the three types and has an all season design. An all""terrain tire is designed for moderate drive both on and off the highway. If you are going to use an all""terrain tire, the ride will be less comfortable and a little noisier. However, it has a more aggressive tread pattern and is made of heavier construction. On the other hand, the MT tire has the most aggressive tread pattern of all three types. It has wide grooves that allow the driver to drive smoothly in tough terrain. The grooves grip loose dirt and rocks, pulling the vehicle through.

After you choose and buy the right tires for your SUV, you should learn how to maintain them. Have in mind that without proper maintenance your tires will not last for as long as they were meant for. The main thing that you should do to keep your SUV running at its best is to measure the pressure in your SUV tires at least once per month. It is a good idea to buy a pressure gauge, because with it you will be able to measure their pressure at your garage. After that you should regularly inspect your SUV tires for damage. If you notice that there are some cracks or punctures in them, you should take them to a professional to get them repaired or if this is not an option, you will have to buy new ones.
