When it comes to expanding the educational achievements on your resume, these are no more difficult than volunteering, in finding ways to increase your attractiveness to employers. This section is not restricted to the diplomas that may take years to complete, but is a place to include certification programs that often require little more than forty or so hours of instruction to complete. Courses could be anything from computer programming to private investigating and are available and most community colleges or similar educational facilities. Ideally you should have of course that is related to the job you're hoping to land. This is not always the case as any courses and certifications you have completed will show initiative, something all employers are looking for in first time job applicants.

Easily overlooked opportunities such as volunteering, increasing your education, or using your life experience as work history are excellent ways of expanding on an otherwise thin resume. The enterprising individual can look at any area of their life and find ways to show employers that they have exactly what they're looking for, especially, drive determination and ambition.
