How To Get Cheap City Centre Car Parking

By:

It's no secret that parking in any city centre is an expensive thing to have to pay for. What if you haven't got any choice? If you work in the city centre and have no other way of getting to work then what can you do to ensure you don't waste all your hard earned money on parking. Hopefully this article will provide some good advice on getting cheap city centre parking.

Unfortunately if you want the best deal you need to reside yourself to the fact that you will probably have to pay the full pricing so you can find the best deals. There is no better way to finding a cheap deal than in the actual place you want the parking.

When beginning your search park in the car park closest to your work place. Then spend a few hours just walking around noting down all the car parks within safe walking distance from your place of work.

Before hitting the phones ask your employer or building landlord if they have any deals with any of the local car parks. This is over looked all of the time but in a lot of cases landlords and employers have already done the negotiating for you so ask them. If they have already got a deal it will take up less of your time as you can simply make the call and pay for your parking.

Let's pretend that you do not already have a deal on the table and go back to your car park list. Next you need to call all of them and get their starting prices. Don't be alarmed at the high prices as all of these prices are negotiable.

Once you have your list you need to call them all again starting with the most expensive and play them off against the cheapest. Explain what sort of price you have had and see what they can do. Each of the car parks will be aware of what the other car parks are doing so be careful not to cheat too much. Do this for all of the car parks on your list and you will start to get a more realistic price.

Most of the car parks will offer further discounts for group parking so if there is somebody else who is looking for parking then throw them into the bargaining pot. If there isn't anybody else then don't worry as car parks will offer further discounts if you commit for longer periods. A sensible benchmark would be to ask for a price per quarter. You can get even more discounts if you commit for twelve months but usually the three month price is reasonable.

The main point that we wanted to get across in this article is that city centre parking does not have to cost the earth. Don't be afraid to be cheeky and ask for a better deal. Car parks will expect this type of bargaining so make sure you do it and get some nice cheap city centre parking.
